Flying things and other stuff I do for fun.
Nicholas Rehm's 4-blade airplane-eating Monster-Copter at Flite Fest 2024
Nicholas Rehm, inventor of the dRehmFlite stabilization system, built this 50 lb, 12 ft diameter, powered rotor helicopter controlled with his stabilization system. It had never been flown before and this is it's first flight, during one of the combat events. The cyclic control was not properly tuned and the copter drifted with the wind until he had to land at the edge of the field, but it was very impressive in the air and nothing looked like it could stop it!

Flying my home-built RC ornithopter at the Flite Fest 2024 event. This was an early morning flight and not too many other planes were in the air.

🤘🤠
Man I was a electrician for 40years and I never new ceiling fans could fly dam I could have flown thousands lol 😂
I loved how that was flapping around during the pilots' meeting! It was a nice distraction.
That was one cool out of the ordinary flying gauntlet device! I steered clear.
Oh my god. When I was at Ff that one was cool but god did it make a annoying sound.
That's me in the blue shirt. My friend in the green is spotting for me. I tried to hit that big multicopter, but wasn't successful.
an amazing flight! It seemed the wind dragged it away
All these planes in the air and I only saw one collision and no crashes. Maybe model flying isn't as dangerous as politicians make out...
Can't see anything so that was pointless. Good job 👍
Thats so cool seeing that many airplanes in the sky at once.
I got I vid of u flapping around
This was a lot of fun to watch! And a very unique sound!
That is ukrainian drone
Ganz laut musst mal ölen
Impressive!
Beautiful flight thanks for posting

@@leifvejby8023 lol nice
you'll never believe me so you'll have to look it up online... there is this "thing" called a zoom feature on a camera!!! I know!! Crazy.
is this demolition derby for planes? 😂
It actually is.
@@stejer211 nice
@@southern_merican Search for 'flite fest combat' for more.
Bro who's got grandmas ceiling fan
He got that shot from legend of zelda
Yyyeeeeessssss
Yeah, man!!! His work is so gooood!!!
I used to fly rudder only. If the aircraft is setup right, you can do loops and rolls and more using rudder only.
Magical ceiling-fan is being mobbed by birds 😂
Nice ornithopter. Too bad I missed it there today, but I didnt stay that long
Is this thing available like at a hobby shop? I find this to be very interesting as it seems to simulate the flight of a bird and that something that’s a bit different. I like it.
congratulations on your burb! 😍
How does ist not propel itself downwards, because I don’t see any rostering action or similar
Wtf
@@damiendurrant2323 i meant roatating, and i meant that when it extends its wings up, why doesnt it push itself down
Those giant Asian hornets are really scary.
I had one of these as a kid I'd say circa 1973. It didn't last long. The Styrofoam wings would break really easily. I think it lasted half of a Summer. I remembering getting new wings. They broke again too. By Fall it was in the trash can.
😮 оно ещё и дышит тяжело, так ох-ох-оёйой
We are gonna get so good at this
We had a used cox dune buggy. It ran about as long as the car in the video.
Flying wings are more efficient
That's a good height you've got there, do you have a reserve?
Check out Round Winged Aircraft experiments too
Cool
What airfield?
I would fly it! That's pretty neat. 👍
Thats a cool heli.
Awesome machine but my favorite glider ever is still the Millennium. I'd love it if there was a pure flex wing version of the Mill. No VG cord because the sail would be super tight. Very portable... Electric power... Full fairing...
Back to the bunny hill...
Does not sound so swift
I flew one once... It's an amazing machine.
Too cool. Keep posting videos
Nice 👍
Where can I buy it?
Its a drone with a point
No it is not. It's closer to a rocket in its handling. The long length of it means it is unstable and requires continuous adjustment of the propulsion system to keep it upright, which is not true for a drone. It requires a closed loop control system to automatically adjust the propulsion system, and almost certainly requires it to be done very quickly and faster than a human can do it manually.
Yeah, a Rocket that sou ds awfully like propellers driven by electric motors.? Strange ROCKET werner von braun would be proud lol
It is demonstrating a closed loop control system which are typically employed by missiles and rockets. But you didn't know that because you don't have an engineering degree and you didn't formally study the branch of engineering known as Control Theory.
You mean a weird shaped drone 😂. Any how, very cool!
